Elon Musk reactivates Alex Jones’ Twitter/X account after a five year ban

Elon Musk has reinstated conspiracy theorist and social media personality Alex Jones' twitter/x account after being banned for five years for Twitter’s “abusive behavior policy” as he was facing a lawsuit for spouting false conspiracy theories about the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

In the past, Musk stated that he wouldn't reinstate Alex Jones, and although he didn't necessarily have a change of heart on the matter since he left the decision up to a Twitter poll and let the people vote on whether or not Alex would get his profile back. The poll had nearly 2 million votes.

Recently, many major advertisers suspended their campaigns on Twitter/X after Musk promoted what the White House called “antisemitic and racist hate” on the site.

One of the first things Alex Jones did with his new found Twitter/X activity was interview Elon Musk.
