Muni Lot Food Distribution to End Next Month

(Cleveland) The Greater Cleveland Food Bank will no longer operate its drive-thru food distribution days at the Cleveland Muni Lot after Thursday December 21st. What was meant to be a short-term solution to get food to people in need more easily during the pandemic, has stretched into more than 3 years. The Food Bank's Communications Director Karen Pozna says there were days at the Muni Lot when they would distribute food to hundreds if not thousands of people in a single day. The Food Bank opened its new Community Resource Center on South Waterloo Road earlier this month, which offers a free-choice market, much like a grocery store. And the food bank has more than a thousand partners within its six-county reach. To learn of a partner, or food pantry, near you, call the Greater Cleveland Food Bank's Help Center at 216-738-2067.
