(Cleveland) The former Mayor of North Royalton, Cathy Luks, appeared in court today for arraignment on charges of driving under the influence and failure to comply related to a traffic stop in Parma back in September. The 66-year-old entered a not guilty plea and was released on $5,000 personal bond. A pre-trial hearing was scheduled for November 29th. Luks was pulled over by a Parma police officer for speeding, but she failed to comply with the officer's instructions and sped away, ultimately crashing into an unoccupied truck in a parking lot. The officer noticed her condition and slurred speech and put Luks in handcuffs. Luks served as Mayor of North Royalton from 1999-2007.
