(Brecksville) Starting this week and running into next week, the National Park Service will conduct a series of planned controlled burns at the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The goal is to burn out invasive plant species to allow for native plants to seed, and also improve the quality of the soil. The first happening this week is the 40 acres that was once the site of the old Richfield Coliseum. The second burn location is 129 acres of the Terra Vista Natural Study Area in Valley View, near Canal and Tinkers Creek Road. And, the 3rd and final location is 13 acres in Boston Township off Boston Mills Road just south of the Ohio Turnpike. The burnings will take place up to November 15th.
