Restaurant Sponsoring Basketball Tournament To Buy Back Guns

(Cleveland) - Edwins Leadership Restaurant and Institute is continuing an effort to get guns off the street by hosting a 3-on-3 basketball tournament Saturday, October 21.

Edwins president and CEO Brandon Chrostowski says he's tired of all the gun violence on Cleveland streets, and he wants to do something to put at least a dent in it. Working with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Cleveland Police Foundation, Edwins is sponsoring a 3-on-3 basketball tournament. Entrants must have between 3 and 5 people on their team and each team must turn in at least three guns as entry to play. A court will be set up at the Edwins Second Chance Life Skills Center, where former convicts can learn about culinary arts.

Teams will play for cash prizes of up to $2,500 per team. Edwins gift cards of $100 will be given out for each handgun or shotgun turned in; $200 gift cards for each long gun.
