Pro wrestling icon, WWE Hall of Famer Terry Funk dies at age 79 Terry Funk was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009 - Funk was widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers, his storied careers spanned several decades, starting in 1965 until he stepped away in 2017.
Terry's longtime friend and alternating in-ring rival and partner, Mick Foley, paid tribute to the late wrestler on social media.
"Terry Funk is gone. I just talked to Terry’s daughter, Brandee, who gave me the awful news. He was my mentor, my idol, one of the closest friends. He was the greatest wrestler I ever saw. " Foley wrote in a post on X, the company formerly known as Twitter.
