Several lobstermen who were working off the coast of Maine over the weekend came back with a far bigger catch than they’d expected after they saved two boaters from a watery grave, authorities say.

The incident occurred Saturday several miles from Seguin Island, where a 48-foot yacht caught fire, prompting the two people aboard to jump into the water in an effort to escape the flames, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. As the yacht continued to burn, the victims were left stranded with no means to make it back to shore – until a lobster boat named “My Three Blondes” came along, says Coast Guard Lieutenant David J. Letarte.

"We credit them in this case as saving some lives," says Letarte, referring to the lobstermen who plucked the pair from the Atlantic. He says both people, whose names have not been released, were unharmed in the incident. However, the yacht, “Titan,” was a complete loss, he adds.
