Michael Lorenzen tossed the Philadelphia Phillies' 14th-ever No-hitter during a 7-0 victory over the Washington Nationals at Citizens Bank Park. The starter mowed down five batters and walked four on 124 pitches for this season's third No-hitter. Lorenzen was making his second start for the Phils after the team acquired him from the Detroit Tigers at the trade deadline. The last time a Phillies pitcher threw a "no-no" was Cole Hamels back in 2015. Houston Astros hurler Framber Valdez threw a No-hitter against the Cleveland Guardians earlier this month while New York Yankees righty Domingo German pitched a perfect game against the Oakland Athletics on June 28th.
