ODOT Sends Help to Western New York

CLEVELAND - On Thursday Morning, Governor Mike DeWine announced that Ohio is sending the Ohio Department of Transportation to New York. The move is in response to a request for aid from the state of New York following the deadly Christmas-weekend blizzard. Over 30 people have died in Buffalo, After a weekend that saw over 40 inches of snow, howling winds of 60-plus miles per hour, and below-freezing temperatures in the city. The state’s governor Kathy Hochul has described the storm as “devastating.” The dead have been found outside or in cars, and Buffalo police say they expect to see more. The convoy started making there way to Buffalo at 9:30 am on Thursday. The crew of 28 will be in western New York for six days.
