Violent Gang Member Arrested on Cleveland's West Side

Cleveland - Late Wednesday morning, members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested 25-year-old Andre Phillips, who was wanted by the Richmond Heights Police Department and the Adult Parole Authority.

On July 16th, Phillips and the victim were in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 400 block of Richmond Park West, near Highland Road in Richmond Heights when Phillips shot the victim numerous times.The victim survived his injuries and Phillips was identified as the suspect shortly after the shooting.

Members of the NOVFTF began working the case as soon as the warrants were issued.Numerous leads were followed and today officers were able to locate Phillips in an apartment complex in the 3600 block of Bosworth Road near West 117th Street. He was taken into custody without any incident.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott added, “The members of our communities here in Northern Ohio should feel safe in their neighborhoods, day in and day out our officers work hard maintain a safe community and arrests of individuals such as this relate directly to the protection of our streets.”
