Styling Salons, Barber Shops, Have Varying New Policies

(Cleveland) - Friday is the day we can all get a professional hair cut or styling, but it won't be the same as before.

We basically all know about the new rules having to do with waiting areas, seating, mask wearing by professionals, but some styling salons and barber shops have policies of their own.

One styling salon says in an email sent out to customers that it will be mandatory to wear masks, and if you don't have one, they'll sell you one for $5. They will not take cash. Tips can either be put on a credit or debit card, or a cash tip can be put in a sealed envelope. In addition, they'll tack on a $3 charge, "Due to the highe costs per the state to conduct business.

A western suburb barber shop says on their Facebook page that in addition to washing your hands, you'll be asked to log in your name, contact info and time of service, in case it's needed for contact tracing. They say masks will not be required, but ask that you respect varying opinions on the subject, and be aware that the barbers will be wearing masks.

The best advice is to either call, or check the website or social media page of where your hair is done, so you can check what their new policies will be.
