(Cleveland) - The first of three suspects in the Mr. Cars II car dealership murders has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.
Trina Tomola and Michael Koznik, who both owned the West side dealership, were murdered during a robbery back in April, 2017. Their dog was killed as well. The property is located at East 185th street in Cleveland.
Police say Andrew Keener was involved in the robbery, but did not participate in the shootings that night. In addition to the manslaughter charge, Keener also pleaded to a theft charge. He and two other men stole two cars and an undisclosed amount of cash from the dealership that night. The cars were later found damaged and abandoned.
The other two suspects, Jerome Diggs and Joseph McAlpin, are both awaiting trial. Investigators say McAlpin was the trigger man during the robbery, and so he faces the death penalty if he is convicted of first degree murder.
