Rocky River Police Blotter: Hit Skip, Drunk Driving And Stolen Chevy

On 02/12/2019 at about 2:10 AM a patrol officer saw a car at the east end of Mitchell Ave. that appeared to be disabled. The officer investigated and learned the 2014 Ford Escape had crashed into the guardrail at the end of the dead-end street, disabling the vehicle.

The driver, 31-year-old Brian Arnold of Lakewood, was arrested for drunk driving. No one was injured. 

On 02/15/2019 at about 9:20 PM police saw a 2006 Chevy Cobalt on Lake Rd. east bound at Kensington and learned that the vehicle had been reported stolen to the Lorain Police Department. After following the car into Lakewood, the driver stopped and fled on foot on Granger Ave.

After a short search, the driver was located nearby. Kyle Rich, 29-years-old from Cleveland, was arrested for receiving stolen property, fleeing, and no driver's license.

On 02/16/2019 at about 2:55 AM a caller reported being involved in a hit-skip motor vehicle accident in Cleveland and that he was following the suspect on Interstate 90. An officer saw the vehicles exit I-90 at Hilliard Blvd. and stopped them near 2321 Lakeview Ave. The suspected hit-skip vehicle had front end damage and airbags had deployed.

The driver of the car, 24-year-old Adrian Alvarez of Lorain, had indicators of alcohol impairment and, after a series of field sobriety tests, was arrested for drunk driving.
