Key Bank Near Downtown Robbed

Cleveland - Cleveland Police are asking for the communities help in finding the man responsible for robbing the Chester Avenue Key Bank Friday afternoon.

Friday at 1:13pm the Key Bank at 3601 Chester Avenue was robbed by a black male, possibly in his fifties or sixties. The male wore a dark knit hat, a green coat and blue jeans. He was described as having a greying mustache and goatee.

The suspect reportedly entered the bank, approached the victim teller and demanded hundreds and fifties. The male stated, "I don't want to hurt nobody but I'm capable." The teller complied with the demand for money and provided an undisclosed amount of currency. No physical injuries were reported.  No weapon was seen or displayed.

The male suspect exited through the East door. There is no known getaway vehicle at this time. It is believed the suspect traveled near East 47th and Payne.

Tips can be provided to the Cleveland Division of the FBI, the Cleveland Division of Police, or Crime Stoppers. Tips can remain anonymous. Reward money is available for information leading to the successful identification and prosecution of the person responsible.
