Double Homicide Suspect From Florida Caught In CLE

Cleveland – U.S. Marshals arrested Raymond Diaz, 25, who was wanted by the Palm Beach County Sheriff for two counts of murder with a firearm.

Diaz was wanted for allegedly shooting and killing two males inside of a vehicle in Palm Beach, Florida. In October, Diaz was the back seat passenger of a vehicle when he shot and executed the driver and front seat passenger both in the back of the head. Immediately following the incident, Diaz fled to Cleveland to stay with family.

New information was developed by Palm Beach County investigators which led to a warrant being issued for Diaz on Thursday. Members of the Cleveland Division of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force wasted no time tracking down Diaz and arrested him this morning at a family member’s residence near the 13000 Block of Highlandview Ave., Cleveland.

US Marshal Pete Elliott stated “Let this be a wakeup call for any fugitive that thinks he can outrun the reach of the Marshals Service. Our reach is nationwide, and we will not rest until we find our fugitive. This violent fugitive was caught within 24 hours of the warrant being issued because of a great working relationship between law enforcement in Palm Beach and Cleveland.”
