Cleveland police investigate six shootings

Cleveland - Police are investigating a rash of unrelated shootings, including one in which suspects opened fire on officers.

A 28-year-old woman was shot in the arm in the 2400 block of Woodhill Road late Friday evening. She was taken to University Hospitals.

A 24-year-old man was shot in the side in the 1800 block of East 19th Street. The shooting happened just after midnight Saturday morning.  He was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center.

At East 93rd and Benham Avenue, a group of men opened fire at Cleveland Police officers at around 2:00AM Saturday, but fortunately none of the officers was wounded. Police did not return fire.  One man has been arrested.

A 37-year-old man was shot in the legs in the 3400 block of East 143rd Street at about 2:18AM Saturday.  He was taken to University Hospitals.

A 53-year-old woman was shot in the leg near East 93rd and Union around 2:06AM Saturday. She was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center.

A short time later, a 27-year-old man was shot in the abdomen and buttocks in the area of East 78th and Carnegie.

There's no word of any arrests, except in the case of the suspects who fired on Cleveland police.
