AKRON – Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh announced today that a Summit County Jury found Richard Curley, 31, of Reed Avenue in Akron, guilty in connection with the robbery of two people last September.
Jurors found Curley guilty of the following charges:
- Two Counts of Aggravated Robbery – felonies of the 1st degree
Summit County Common Pleas Court Judge Amy Corrigall Jones immediately sentenced Curley to ten years in prison.
In the early morning hours of September 16, 2017, the victim was walking home from work with a security guard when they were approached by two men who pulled out a gun and robbed them. The two suspects ran to a getaway car and drove off. Police tracked down the car, which had four people inside including Curley.
Two other defendants, Hayden Fife, 24, of East Main Street in Whitehall, Ohio, and Porsha Daniels, 29, of Fairfax Loop Drive in Blacklick, Ohio, both previously pled guilty to robbery with gun specifications, a felony of the 2nd degree. Both are awaiting sentencing. The third defendant, Christopher Morris, 26, of Carpenter Street in Akron, pled guilty to Having a Weapon Under Disability and was sentenced to one year in prison.
