106-Year Old University Circle Institution Expanding West

OHIO CITY - The new west side campus of The Music Settlement (TMS) at the corner of Detroit Avenue and West 25th Street in Ohio City, will offer programs in early childhood, music instruction and music therapy tailored to the specific needs of the community.

Thanks to an ambitious $8.5M fundraising campaign, the 19,000+ square foot campus features an early childhood wing with a science room, six classrooms and a playground designed to focus on creative and developmental skills.

Programming featuring Early Childhood educational programs for children ages 3-5 years and Arts for Young for infants and toddlers will begin in August, with Music Instruction and Music Therapy for all ages and interests, starting in September.

A multi-use innovation wing will house both The Settlement’s music therapy and music instruction programs.  Two large ensemble rooms, each equipped with pianos, may be used for groups as large as 30, while two instruction studios have been designed for groups in addition to private studios for individual lessons.

A dance studio with a dance-friendly floor and mirrors, multi-purpose room as well as administrative facilities will occupy the remaining space.
