Rocky River Police Blotter: Man Falls Asleep With Water Running

Below are incidents from the Rocky River Police Department from 05/22/2018 through 05/28/2018.

  • On 05/22/2018 at about 2:45 PM police responded to a Center Ridge Rd. salon after a complaint that a customer was refusing to leave. The customer, it turns out, was late for an appointment and was upset that it was canceled. No charges were filed.
  • On 05/23/2018 at about 4:25 PM police responded to the intersection of Wooster and Detroit Rds. after it was reported that a vehicle was stuck on a flower bed and unable to get off. As police arrived, the driver of the truck began to drive away but was quickly stopped. James R. Taylor, 28-years-old from Lakewood, was arrested for drunk driving. 
  • On 05/24/2018 at about 12:50 AM police responded to a Hilliard Blvd. duplex after a caller reported water leaking into her apartment from the unit upstairs. Water could be heard running in the upstairs unit. The caller said she heard the upstairs neighbor earlier in the evening and knocked on his door when the water started leaking into her apartment. Forced entry was made into the apartment because of concern for the welfare of the resident and the dangers the water posed to the residents and property. The 62-year-old man was alive and well, asleep in his recliner. He said he forgot to turn the sink off and fell asleep.
  • On 05/24/2018 at about 10:45 PM police responded to an alarm at Minotti's Wine & Beverage on Detroit Rd. and discovered the building had been broken into. Detectives are investigating.
