Cuyahoga County's 700th rape kit suspect charged

Suspect

(Cleveland) - Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O'Malley has announced the 700th rape kit suspect.

O'Malley says Daniel Fridley is a serial rapist and is indicted for sexually assaulting a 52 year old visually impaired woman in December 2002, after she had just gotten off a bus near West 130th Street.

O'Malley says the testing of a small comb that was in the victim's rape kit led investigators to the 48 year old Fridley.

He could get 114 years to life in prison if convicted. Also indicted is Darryl Williams who is rape kit suspect 701.

He is charged with raping a 16 year old Cleveland girl at gunpoint, who was on her way to school in 1998.

In 1999, Williams was arrested for committing two other rapes, and is currently serving a 20 year sentence.

He is due to be released in 2020. If convicted on the new charges Williams could be sentenced to 129 years to life in prison.
