CLEVELAND (AP)- The Indians need one more win to advance to the American League Championship series.
Yan Gomes singled in the walk-off run in the bottom of the 13th inning as the Indians rallied past the Yankees, 9-8, in Game Two of their American League Division Series in Cleveland. Austin Jackson was walked and stole second before Gomes brought him in for the winning run.
The Tribe trailed 8-3 before a Francisco Lindor grand slam and a Jay Bruce solo shot tied the game.
Corey Kluber gave up seven hits and six runs in less than three innings, and Josh Tomlin earned the win.
Gary Sanchez, Greg Bird and Aaron Hicks each went deep to give the Yankees an early lead.
Dellin Betances was charged with the loss.
Indians slugger Edwin Encarnacion was helped off the field with an apparent serious ankle injury in the first inning.
Encarnacion was scrambling to get back to second base when he jammed his foot into the bag and rolled his ankle.
He writhed in pain and had to be helped off the field. He hit 38 homers and drove in 107 runs in his first season with Cleveland.
Michael Brantley replaced him at DH.
The Indians lead the ALDS series, 2-0, with Game Three scheduled for Sunday night in the Bronx.
